The Evil Dead makes a comeback!

Once upon a time a good movie was in theatres. Don’t you love that story? I think the more fitting opening would be “once in a blue moon”. Well, you can cut your own hand off and strap that chainsaw to your arm because The Evil Dead is back! Yes, it’s true! And oh how sweet it is.

According to Film Junk, Grindhouse Releasing is resurrecting the classic with plans for midnight showings in select theatres in Canada and south of the border after receiving blessings from writer/director Sam Raimi and producers Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell. Specific cities and dates have yet to be announced, but anywhere that’s anywhere will have the masses clawing at their own skins to get a viewing.

“Nothing can prepare an audience for what they are about to see, because nothing punishes an audience like Evil Dead – especially on the big screen,” says the man himself, Bruce Campbell. “I’m really glad it’s back. People are gonna be hurt.”
