Opening in 2010 is his newest creation, Alice in Wonderland, featuring the usual suspects with Mr. Depp and his lovely wife and a few new culprits joining in the fun. It appears from the few posters and trailers that have been released thus far that the movie entertains with Burton’s regular dark twist on a normally bright tale.
His art, if you are new to the scene, is very much like work and design that you have seen in his movies; dark, bold and hard to miss. The style is unlike anything else, similarly to his movies. If you are fortunate enough to be visiting NYC before April 2010, checking out the MoMA and his exhibit should be added to your to-do list.
For those of us that are not as fortunate, we have two choices. Cross our fingers and hope that the exhibit comes to a museum near us. Or, ask for the limited edition sketch book the MoMA has released at book stores everywhere that includes pictures and sketches from the exhibit itself. Makes for a great, interesting gift for the Tim Burton lover, as Christmas is around the corner.
