If you spend any amount of time here at Sound on Sight, you probably love movies, old and new. And you probably have fond memories of being a teenager. (Or maybe you are a teenager right now, in which case, we feel very old. But never mind.) So you may hold some classic teen-themed movies like Dazed and Confused or Almost Famous in high regard, as well you should. If you’d like to revisit these films, along with a couple others, you’ll get the chance to do so on the big screen over the next few weeks as part of the Spectacular Classics Screening Series.
This four-week series is tied to the upcoming, highly acclaimed film The Spectacular Now, starring Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller, and written by the men behind (500) Days of Summer. Starting this Tuesday, July 16th, the Spectacular Classics Screening Series kicks off with Cameron Crowe’s directorial debut Say Anything; the week after, Dazed and Confused will be the film of choice, followed by Almost Famous on July 30th and The Breakfast Club on August 6th. The Spectacular Classics Screening Series will be in 11 U.S. markets–New York, Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks, Dallas, Boston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Phoenix–and each film will screen at 7 p.m. on each of the next four Tuesdays. So don’t wait too long to grab your tickets, and relive your teenage years all over again.
