One day after the announcement FOX was developing an American adaptation of Luther, star Idris Elba and writer/creator Neil Cross will also be back for another round of the original Luther. The two-part hourlong miniseries will air sometime late 2015, revived by a partnership with BBC America and BBC Drama Production.
“Luther is coming back where he belongs. Back to the BBC. Back to London. And back to work,” Cross said. Production will start in March in London.
Both Elba and Cross are linked to both projects (both as producers in the FOX project), so stay tuned for how each series turns out.
Luther ran between 2010 2013 for 14 episodes, with Elba winning a Golden Globe in 2011. The series received eight Emmy nominations.
