The DC television domination continues as yet another property is headed to series with the recent announcement that Teen Titans would get a pilot.
TNT confirmed on Monday that a pilot for DC’s Teen Titans characters in a show called Titans would film at some point in 2015. Titans will revolve around onetime Batman sidekick-turned superhero Dick Grayson, alias Nightwing, as he puts together a band of new superheroes whose ranks will also include classic Titans like Starfire and Raven. Another team member, Cyborg, could be included also but will be finding life on the big screen in Batman v. Superman.
The Titans program is being written by Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman (Fringe) and co-produced by Marc Haimes (The Legend of Zorro). It would seem that with the pilot coming soon that casting news could follow with the team assembling at some point in early 2015.
According to CW president Mark Pedowitz in an interview with AdWeek, a crossover between the Teen Titans and their two popular shows, Arrow and The Flash, could work but he added that one with Fox’s Gotham wouldn’t.
There is no set premiere date for the show yet with more details coming once the cast and pilot production date are set.
