Pootie Tang is a thing of the past and Louis C.K. is moving forward with a new feature film.

The Wrap reported on Monday that C.K. is set to write, direct, and star in an new independent comedy, titled I’m A Cop. It will be his first feature film that he is directing since the comedy starring Chris Rock.

The film follows a depressed middle-aged man (C.K.) who serves as a volunteer police officer. When his mother dies following a distinguished career in law enforcement, he’s inspired to follow in her footsteps and become a real cop.

Scott Rudin will produce with Dave Becky and Blair Breard, who are executive producers on his beloved FX series Louie. C.K. has directed every episode of the show so far.

His show is currently in its fifth season and has won three Emmy’s with C.K. most recently winning for the episode, So Did The Fat Lady.
