Aca-Perfect! After making a whopping $161 million at the box office, Pitch Perfect is returning for a third film. THR reports that studios are already in negotiations with the writer of the first two movies, Kay Cannon, to write Pitch Perfect 3.
However, after massive pay raises to secure both Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson for the sequel, it’s unclear if either will return, especially considering (SPOILER!!!) both of their characters graduated at the end of the second film. THR suspects however that newcomer to the franchise Hailee Steinfeld might be pegged to take over the franchise.
It’s also unclear whether star and Pitch Perfect 2‘s director Elizabeth Banks would be returning in either capacity for the second sequel. But the reportedly $29 million sequel was too big a success to pass up another attempt to cash in, no matter who they have on board for the film. The Bellas will be back Pitches.
