Also noteworthy is the fact that he has a flat where he is alone and where he compiles a huge collection of dolls from his childhood and video games to which he dedicates several hours a week, inviting his colleagues to engage them in a good friendly relationship. However, there is an issue that has caused him a series of headaches over many years and from which he has not yet been able to remove the thorn despite many attempts.

The point is that the protagonist has never had the opportunity to make love with a woman, so his colleagues will try by all means to get rid of his heavy burden and get the reward he has been looking for as a man.

Project X

June 8, 2012 in theaters/1h 27min

Comedy

Directed by Nima Nourizadeh

Screenplay Matt Drake (II), and Michael Bacall

Cast Members: Thomas Mann (II), Oliver Cooper, and Jonathan Daniel Brown

Awards: Nominee of 2012 Golden Trailer Awards, 2013 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, and 2012 MTV Movie + TV Awards

Synopsis: Nima Nourizadeh has not stopped until she shows us once and for all what a real party is like. Neither filming clips of trackers from the past decade like Hot Chip or Yelle, nor the cool ad for Adidas on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the sportswear house were enough. The Briton has had to ally himself with Todd Philipps, another anthological reveler, to film the mother of all parties.

With the permission of the Lloret de Mar tourists. Nourizadeh actually transforms the celebrated commercial (‘House Party’, 2010) into a feature film, so it is not difficult to guess what one might find in ‘Project X’. However, and despite the fact that the work sometimes flirts with the ‘MTV Fiestuqui’ aesthetic, the film knows how to join the cinematographic tradition that ‘La Fiesta’ represents as the first ritual of initiation to adult life.

‘Project X’ comes to remind us that despite the passage of time, the crisis, limitations, and political barriers, the party will never be eradicated. What the film ultimately works is the reason for that need.

September 10, 1999 in theaters/1h 37min

Drama

Directed by Roger Kumble

Screenplay Roger Kumble and Choderlos de Laclos

Cast Members: Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Reese Witherspoon

Original title: Cruel Intentions

Awards: 2000 Winner of Blockbuster Entertainment Awards and Csapnivalo Awards

Synopsis: Roger Kumble debuted writing and directing ‘Cruel Intentions’, an adaptation of the famous novel by Choderlos de Laclos, setting the story in the adolescent world of New York high society. The idea is as risky as it is curious. In addition, at the time it was an ideal commercial product as it had in its cast young actors who were then beginning to emerge as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Philippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair, an attractive cast for young viewers.

The idea worked very well at the box office. As a movie, ‘Cruel Intentions’ stands as a mediocrity that is based on a script as faithful as it is disrespectful to the original, but that fails in the visual approach because it is too flat.

Comedy and  Fantasy

Directed by David Zucker

Screenplay Craig Mazin and Pat Proft

Cast Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Leslie Nielsen

Awards: 2006 Nominee of Fangoria Chainsaw Awards and 2007 Winner of Razzie Awards; among others

Synopsis: David Zucker, together with his brother Jerry and Jim Abrahams, created in 1980 one of the most representative films of comedy of the time (not for its quality in itself), ‘Land as you can’, satirical work around the films of disasters that occurred in the United States during the 1970s, particularly air disasters.

From this play that, more or less went well, they expanded the spectrum with ‘Top Secret’ or ‘Grab it as you can’ (and successive installments), creating a formula that would be collected later, as in the ‘Scary Movie saga ‘, which was born after the resurgence of horror cinema with’ Scream ‘at the helm. Thus, up to five deliveries.

The fourth was directed by David Zucker. It follows in the wake of the previous three, taking the most recent horror films to their production and satirizing them, providing only two or three gags with a certain grace, but little else. The presence of Anna Faris helps make ‘Scary Movie 4’ more bearable, but it is still a movie with nothing to contribute.
