But, when the husband of Rose discovers that Rose has been hanging out with Jack, he organizes for Jack to be locked up. Not long after, the titanic ship hits an iceberg, and Rose rushes to find Jack where he is locked as the ship continues to sink.
The Titanic movie has won numerous awards. It has won eleven academy awards in the year 1998.
The Fault in our Stars (2014)
This action movie, drama, and romance is a no-brainer movie and the top movie on this list. You will need to have a box of soft tissues next to you when you want to watch because you are going to start shedding a few teardrops. It is a love story that will fill your heart with joy and sadness at the same time.
This movie was released on May 16, 2014, on 20th Century Fox. It is directed by Josh Boone and runs for about 125 minutes. The storyline is about a 16-year-old young cancer patient known as Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) who is meeting the love of her life, a young man called Gus Waters (Ansel Elgort). Gus is in his teens and they bump into each other at a cancer support group.
They find out that they both love reading books and they click instantly. Gus, to some surprise, manages to get an invitation to meet with an author who wrote one of Grace’s favorite books. They both become excited and decide to go on a crazy adventure to meet up with the author and possibly enjoy the short lives that life has presented to them to be together.
The film has received positive reviews and critical criticism from everyone who has watched it. It became number one during the opening week after it was released. It has received numerous Teen choice awards and MTV movie awards for the best kiss and best movie.
The Photograph (2020) – IMDB
This is an American romantic drama that is written and directed by Stella Meghie. The storyline is told across two timelines. The movie is about how one can make peace with your family history and find someone who fulfills your heart with warmth.
In the film, an entangled daughter of a famous photographer (Issa Rae) falls in love with a journalist (Lakeith Stanfield) who she meets when he is doing an investigation interview about her late mum’s life. The two quickly become attracted to each other.
Before Rae commits her love affair fully to Lakeith, she decides to reckon with all the secrets her late mum kept from her. Some of those secrets include the identity of her real father and what transpired between her parents all those years ago. It is available on Netflix.
Dear John (2010)
This is another Nicholas Sparks film, just like The Notebook. The storyline of this movie centers on a soldier known as John Tyree (Channing Tatum) who is smitten by a young college student called Savannah (Amanda Seyfried) while he is at home on leave. On a sad note, when the two find themselves deeply connected, John is sent to go back to Afghanistan, leaving Savannah to move on with her life.
In the alternate ending, the two characters reconnect with each other at one of the most inopportune moments.
The English Patient (1996)
The English Patient is a breathtaking epic movie in every sense of the word, full of forbidden love, one hair-washing scene, and sexy sand storms that are designed to make everyone who watches it become weak in their knees. The Longest Ride (2015)
This is another movie adapted from Spark’s novel. If you love romantic comedies or drama, The Longest Ride is perfect for you as it contains cowboy action. The movie follows up on two couples: a professional bull rider Luke (Scott Eastwood) and an art student called Sophia (Britt Robertson), who fight over Luke’s professional choice and the story of Ruth (Oona Chaplin) and Ira (Jack Huston), as the older Ira (Alan Alda) recounting the past.
Ira and Ruth’s romance story in the movie is what is captivating and will give you tear ducts. Ira, when old, shares the story about their long journey with Ruth during the times of World War II.
La La Land (2016)
This is one of the best movies that will come out in 2016. It is directed by Damien Gazelle. The film is filled with adventure of courage and love. It is a musical containing so many catchy songs which you will end up singing along with at any time of your normal day’s life.
In the movie, both Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) spark a relationship during the drive that they are going to do together. However, once their two different careers kick off, they start to question each other about their future plans together. The very things that brought them together are also the reason that is separating them in the end.
It is one of the best Emma TV shows that you need to watch.
Me before You (2016)
This movie is full of drama, action, and romance directed by Thea Sharrock, you will ball your eyes out. The film revolves around two unlikeliest individuals who fall in love. Louisa Clark (Emilia Clarke) views life from a happy outlook. She spends most of her days working at any job that comes her way. When she lands a job taking care of a young banker called Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), her joyful attitude is put to the test.
Will was involved in a road accident a few years back that left him paralyzed. Because of this experience, he developed a depressing and dark way of looking at life. However, when he begins to spend more time with Louisa, who is taking care of him, the more he starts to view life more brightly.
Blue Valentine (2010)
This is another love movie that Ryan Gosling has featured in. The movie is directed by Derek Cianfrance. It will take you in for a closer look at how relationships fall out. In the movie, Dean (Ryan Gosling) and Cindy (Michelle Williams) appear to be having a normal marriage life to anyone observing from outside.
However, their marriage has numerous challenges and is on the rock because Dean is not ambitious enough and her egotistic way of life is breaking their marriage to the point of no repair. Definitely, Maybe (2008)
Definitely, maybe it is a hilarious movie that features Ryan Reynolds in it. It’s directed by Adam Brooks and it is fun to watch as you can play along while watching it as you try to figure out answers.
In the movie, Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) is in the process of getting a divorce from his wife. During one of the nights, his young daughter asks some questions to him about his love life in her mom’s presence and even about how they first met. To answer her, Will narrates to her daughter about three lovers he used to have back in 1992.
He changes their names so that the daughter can guess which one of them he ended up falling in love with, marrying, and becoming her mother. The movie won women film critics circle awards in 2008 and was nominated for the Teen choice award the same year.
Loving (2016)
Loving is an American biographical romantic film directed by Jeff Nichols, who also wrote the script of the movie. It is about the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, who are plaintiffs in a court case in 1967. The decision Loving Living, which is investigating the state law that is prohibiting interracial marriages
Richard Loving, who is a white construction worker, falls in love with Mildred Jeter, a local black woman who is a family friend. Mildred then becomes pregnant and upon learning about her pregnancy, they decide to marry each other, knowing very well that Virginia anti-miscegenation laws prohibit interracial marriage.
Big Fish (2003)
Big Fish is a fantasy comedy-drama that is directed by Tim Burton. The movie is based on the 1998 novel Best Fish by Daniel Wallace. The storyline of this film revolves around a frustrated son who is trying to distinguish between facts and fiction about his dad who is about to die. The theme of this movie is about reconciliation as seen in how the dying father and his son are trying to reconcile with one another.
Atonement (2007)
Atonement is a romantic war drama movie that came out in the year 2007, based on the novel by Ian McEwans of 2001 and directed by Joe Wright. This movie chronicles a crime that was committed and the consequences it had over six decades from around the beginning of the 1930s.
The plot of the movie is about a rich 13-year-old girl called Briony Tallis who comes from a wealthy family. She is set to perform a play that she has written for an upcoming family meeting. A series of events took place during an argument near a fountain at their home which you needed to go and look out for the movie to watch.
It was scooped an Oscar award for the best original score during the 80th Academy Awards and was nominated for six other distinguished awards, such as best picture, best-supporting actress, and best-adapted screenplay.
