Apple has released a new promotional video for the upcoming thriller Black Swan. So far the promotional material has been solid with beautiful poster work and a terrific trailer. This music video unfortunately does disservice to the film, a film which many of us here at Sound On Sight believe is the best film of 2010. This new video makes Black Swan appear to be a sequel to Save The Last Dance rather than the visceral and visionary take on an exciting and under-explored genre. See for yourself and be the judge.
Synopsis:
A supernatural thriller set in the world of New York City ballet. Black Swan centres on a veteran ballerina (Natalie Portman) who finds herself locked in a competitive situation with a rival dancer, with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance. But it’s unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or if the protagonist is simply having delusions.
Black Swan comes to theatres December 3rd, 2010 and stars Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Sebastian Stan, Ksenia Solo, Toby Hemingway. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
