After Aaron Sorkin referred to his casting as a lock two weeks ago, it seems like Christian Bale will not be playing Steve Jobs in the Sorkin-scripted biopic directed by Danny Boyle.

The Hollywood Reporter broke on Monday that Bale, who was said to be in talks for locking up the role, has dropped out of the project. THR says that Bale decided that he was not right for the part, which led to his departure.

Casting is currently underway with The Wrap reporting that Jessica Chastain is circling the film and that Seth Rogen is being considered to play the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, but it is unclear if Bale dropping out will affect casting, and there is of yet no word on who could possibly replace Bale.

Bale joins former directing choice David Fincher and casting choice Leonardo DiCaprio, who instead chose to work on the film The Revenant, as people who have since departed Sorkin’s project.
