‘Cowboys & Aliens’ World Premiere at Comic-Con San Diego

Following up on our sneak peek at the upcoming sci-fi western graphic novel adaptation Cowboys & Aliens via Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, the Los Angeles Times recently caught up with the film’s director Jon Favreau and managed to finagle this announcement from him, which will undoubtedly send fanboys hearts aflutter everywhere (some may even faint). Cowboys & Aliens will appropriately have its world premiere at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2011, where the film’s cast and crew held a panel last year, ahead of its July 29th worldwide release.

Straight from the mouth of Favreau, he had this to say “The worldwide premiere of  ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ will be at Comic-Con. And not only are we going to premiere it there, we’re going to find a way to include as many of the fans as possible. I feel like they’ve come out for me, they’ve supported me.”

So for those who already have Comic-Con passes may now have an extra special treat waiting for them come sometime between July 21-24 when Comic-Con San Diego is set to run.

From Universal Pictures, Cowboys & Aliens stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Keith Carradine, Sam Rockwell and Paul Dano with a script by several writers including Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, Stark Trek 2009) and produced by such heavyweights as Steven Spielberg, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.
