Dario Argento To Direct Dracula In 3-D

Shocktilyoudrop.com broke news today that two of the biggest ongoing trends in the film business are ready to overlap: vampires and 3-D.  Dario Argento, famed Italian horror director, has announced his next project: a 3-D movie rendering of the classic Dracula.

The news comes direct from the Cannes film festival, where FilmExport Group is working to sell the project. Roberto Girolamo and Gianni Paolucci are attached to produce.

Argento, best known for films like Suspiria and an adaptation of Phantom of the Opera, intends to remain faithful to Bram Stoker’s original story.  This project is only the most recent offering in a host of other Dracula themed projects in development at various companies like Summit Entertainment, Universal Pictures, and Phoenix Pictures.  Still, Argento is widely considered a master in the genre film community, and his Dracula contribution should be something worth anticipating.
