A little while ago, Fox announced that they would be doing a reboot of the Daredevil comic, the first adaptation of which was released in 2003 to mixed reviews but good box office. That film starred Ben Affleck in his dream role as “The Man Without Fear” along with future wife Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, and Michael Clarke Duncan. It was directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Now it appears that Fox will be going with Hard Candy director David Slade for the reboot. According to CinemaBlend this will be a continuation of the superhero story although it will not have anything to do with the 2003 film.
I liked the original Daredevil film. Before people start flinging shit at me, let me say that I am a huge fan of the character and I have not seen the film since I saw it in the theatre. I have know idea if it holds up or not. However, if they are going to do a reboot, Slade seems like a fine choice. Hard Candy was an excellent debut and he even managed to turn in a halfway decent Twilight film. He was second in line to direct The Wolverine before losing out to Darren Aronofsky. It is clear that Fox and Marvel have taken a shine to him.
