Depp and Burton team up again for Dark Shadows

According to Deadline Johnny Depp and Tim Burton will team up for their 8th collaboration for a film adaptation for the old ABC TV series Dark Shadows. Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of Abraham Lincol: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, has penned the script, featuring vampire Barnabas Collins, a role Depp has apparently wanted for years. Filming is set to begin in April after being pushed back from January due to scheduling conflicts. Depp’s Infinitum Nihil and Graham King’s GK Films are producing along with another long time Burton collaborator, Dick Zanuck.

The new start date may cause some issues regarding Depp’s involvement in Kathryn Bigelow’s (The Hurt Locker) Triple Frontier, co-starring Tom Hanks. Depp had originally expressed interest in the role and starring with Tom Hanks, but these scheduling issues may force Bigelow to move on.
