Director of House of the Devil announced his next project

Director Ti West, best known for his 2009 smash hit horror film House Of The Devil (listen to our review here) is prepping his next project The Innkeepers, about the last two staffers of a haunted hotel that’s going out of business.

Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix which have been a major contributor in the indie horror scene with such gems as Wendigo, Habbit and I Sell The Dead will help finance and produce the picture which will start shooting in the spring. MPI Media Group’s Dark Sky Films which are also backing the sequel to Adam Green’s Hatchet will also be involved with distribution rights to the picture.

According to Variety West said he intends Innkeepers to be “a truly terrifying” follow-up to his 2009 pic The House of the Devil.

With House of the Devil gaining international praise from film critics and horror fans, (read our review here) West is on his way to becoming the next big thing in the world of Horror. Having the multi talented Larry Fessenden on board doesn’t hurt. Fessenden has quickly gained a reputation for promoting and helping new young talented film makers and is nominated for the Producers Award at the upcoming Spirit Awards.

In other news, House Of The Devil is about to get a pretty wicked DVD release. A while back Dark Sky Films sent out a copy of the movie on VHS format to several horror journalists, as part of a viral marketing initiative for the film which is not only set in the 1980’s but shot in style of an 80’s horror film. It seems that now the distributor has also decided to included a VHS/DVD bundle pack for sale exclusively on Amazon for the low cost of $23.99; a small price to pay for one of the year’s best films and one of the best horror films of the decade.
