Cable network SyFy announced Monday that they will be developing a new reality-TV documentary series focused on the lives and work of computer hackers, aptly titled Hackers.

Via a press release on ColliderHackers, will take viewers deep inside the shadowy and dangerous world of high-tech hackers for the very first time,” adding they will have real hackers to be interviewed “who will reveal how they committed the crime, from trolling the Internet to rooting out vulnerabilities inside the company websites.”

Hackers is being developed along with Relativity Media, the company famous for their similar web-based, cloak and dagger reality show Catfish: The TV Series, and will add to their slate of reality programming including Ghost Hunters and Haunted Highways.

Computer hackers and their capabilities are certainly “in vogue” right now following the events of The Interview, but can you make an interesting documentary series of people pounding away at keyboards and still keep all the spy-story intrigue? Maybe Laura Poitras has a few ideas.
