Gears 4 was announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Under development at The Coalition (previously Black Tusk Studios), the tentatively titled Gears 4 is set for a holiday 2016 release. Studio head, Rod Fergusson took to the stage to preview the new game with a brief, dark gameplay demo featuring returning weapons like the gnasher shotgun, lancer and of course, the chainsaw. Fergusson also confirmed the heavily leaked Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, a 1080p 60fps remake of the original Gears of War. A multiplayer beta for the remake will run for one week starting today.
