First Details on the New Charlie Kaufman And Spike Jonze Film
Posted on - Last updated:
It was reported a while back that Spike Jonze (Where The Wild Things Are) and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman are teaming up for their third collaboration together after the critically acclaimed hits Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. According to Deadline the project is in negotiations to be picked by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, and is “a satire about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the world, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.” Of course not much else is known about what is supposed to be a “top secret” project, but fans of the duo can be assured that the film will most likely be brilliant.
Megan Ellison,(the daughter of Oracle founder Larry Ellison and sister of Paramount-based financier-producer David Ellison) has become an active buyer of promising film projects that other studios won’t touch – included are John Hillcoat’s The Wettest County in the World, as well as one of the projects mobilizing on Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. She’s also produced True Grit for the Coen brothers, and is behind Andrew Dominik’s next film, Cogan’s Trade. Finally if that hasn’t impressed you, she also bought the Wong Kar-Wai-directed martial arts pic Grandmasters and is working on Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film.
