It’s pretty serendipitous that after the fine career retrospective by our London corespondant Al White earlier this week, we would get our first official image of John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe in The Raven. James McTeigue’s thriller tells the final days of Edgar Allen Poe as he assists a young detective with a murder case in Baltimore. I am assuming it is fictionalized although the circumstances around Poe’s death remain mysterious. I have attached a larger image below. Expect a trailer soon as Relativity is presenting the film in Hall H at Comic Con. McTeigue directed V for Vendetta, a film I greatly admire and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with this project. Cusack looks completely transformed as Poe. Luke Evans, Alice Eve, and Brendan Gleeson also star.
