New TV Spot for ‘Warcraft’ Drops During NFL Championship Game

If sports are good for anything, they’re pretty good for sticking around for the commercial breaks and catching TV spots for the big movies coming out in the spring and summer. Excitement for the video game film adaptation Warcraft ignited when the first full trailer came out for it back in November. That excitement has now been reinvigorated thanks to the latest TV spot for the anticipated summer blockbuster that appeared during both NFL championship games today. Here’s a reminder of what to expect from the film in this synopsis:

The film portrays the origin story of the initial encounters between the humans and the orcs, with an emphasis upon both the Alliance’s and the Horde’s sides of their conflict. Featuring characters such as Durotan and Lothar, the film will take place in a variety of locations established in the video game series.

The spot is mostly made up of snippets of the first trailer, with a few new lines and shots thrown in. Even though it’s only 30 seconds long, it manages to be thrilling and memorable enough to put on the list for must-see summer films. It’s hard not to be intrigued by what writer/director Duncan Jones will bring to this World of Warcraft film adaptation given that this is a major departure from his first two films Moon and Source Code (both incredibly worth checking out). The CGI may look a bit heavy, but there’s no denying that this is definitely going to be an epic ride.

Warcraft will hit US screens on June 10. In the meantime, satiate your excitement with the TV spot below:
