John Hamm talks “Superman”

I’m not sure when the “John Hamm for Superman” campaign started, but for about a year, fans of the actor and Mad Men (and not so much fans of the actual comic book) have been pushing for the actor to play Clark Kent in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman movie. The award-winning actor certainly looks the part, and it helps that he’s already worked with Snyder on his latest film Sucker Punch, but sorry folks, he is simply too old. In a recent interview with MTV, Hamm, who is turning 40 in March, commented on the possibility of taking on the role of the Man Of Steel, confirming, “he’d talked to Snyder about it but has been aged out of the role”, calling it a “young man’s game.” See video of the comment below.

Sucker Punch will be released in March and once Synder is finished promoting the film, he should announce who he’ll cast for the role in order to start production. So far Armie Hammer (The Social Network) and Matthew Goode (who worked with Snyder on Watchmen), have been rumored to be the two most likely choices.
