It is that time of year again — Super Bowl time. While that may mean a giant football game, it also means a slew of new commercials will be debuting soon for the coveted time slots around the match-up between the Patriots and Seahawks.
One of the first commercials to drop is one for BMW that features Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel. The ad opens with a clip from 1994, and the duo is trying to figure out what the “@” symbol means when typing an email. Fast-forward to present day and they are now discovering a new electric BMW.
It ends with the tagline “Big ideas take a little getting used to” and seems like a surefire hit for the company as they launch it for Super Bowl Sunday as fans of both Couric and Gumbel will enjoy the mini-reunion and callback to one of their more famous moments together.
