Within the revolving door of actors playing the iconic figures over at Marvel Entertainment, Mark Ruffalo has been chosen to fill the shoes of Ed Norton’s place as The Incredible Hulk. Vulture got a hold of Ruffalo and he revealed that he would actually be ‘playing’ the character in the film rather than voice acting over a CGI character.
“I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI… They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.”
Further more, Mark goes on to explain that he will take the character into a different direction that Norton took and would be basing Dr. David Bruce Banner after Bill Bixby, who played the Hulk on TV from ’78 to ’82.
“I really love the first TV version of it, the Bill Bixby one… I’m gonna shoot for that a little bit. He was an everyman in it. He’s always on the run and trying to find love. It’s really a sympathetic character, before he turns into the Hulk and f*cks everything up.”
