Matt Reeves Adds Another Project To Direct

So how many films is Matt Reeves directing? In the past two months the director of the fabulous Let Me In has signed on to direct three new projects (so far). First Reeves reported that he was attached to a film adaptation of the short story 8 O’Clock in the Morning (which was also used as the basis for John Carpenter’s They Live). Later he announced another adaptation, that of the vampire novel The Passage.

Now Deadline reports that Reeves will direct an adaptation of Kenneth Oppel’s upcoming novel This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein.

Here’s the basic rundown of the plot via Deadline:

Frankenstein’s twin Konrad is gravely ill. His brother seeks out a mysterious old alchemist to help him produce the Elixir of Life, a serum that will bestow the gift of perpetual health. You can’t order this drink at a pub, and Frankenstein sets out on a dangerous adventure to find the elusive contents. He’s accompanied by his best friend Elizabeth, who is sweet on Konrad. Things get complicated among the three of them.
