Director Rian Johnson blasted into the scene with his hit 2005 neo-noir teen crime drama Brick, and followed it with his sophomore and much under-appreciated The Brothers Bloom. His latest film, the sci-fi time-travel thriller Looper is safely one of the most anticipated films for 2012.
2012 is far away but some very cool new on-set photos have appeared over at Looper’s Tumblr (via the film’s star Joseph Gordon-Levitt). They look absolutely fantastic, verging on pop art meets Blade Runner. It’s just enough to whet the appetite and tickle our imaginations.
Looper stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, and Paul Dano, as well as the recently cast Noah Segan, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo, and Xu Qing.
Synopsis:
A present-day killer works for the mob of the future. He, along with other so-called “Loopers”, dispose of people sent from the future to eliminate evidence of a crime. When he recognizes one victim as his future self, he hesitates, letting the man escape.
