This year saw the release of the fifth entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, a much better than expected film that was being called a spinoff. Though it was the fifth film in the series, Paranormal Activity 5 proper, was still in the works. It looks like in order to avoid confusion the franchise is ditching numerals as Deadline reports that PA5 is now officially titled Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension.
The series had become stale with the fourth film in 2012, but The Marked Ones has a very interesting ending that can lead to a myriad of different possibilities for where the series can go next. The Ghost Dimension will now be released on March 13th, 2015. That release day shifts the date of Scouts Vs. Zombies to February 20th, 2015. Coincidentally, Christopher B. Landon, who wrote Paranormal Activity 2, 3, 4, and directed The Marked Ones, directed Scouts Vs. Zombies.
