Well we can all expect our favourite film blogs and websites to be flooded in the upcoming months with the marketing for Disney’s John Carter. Adapted from the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel A Princess of Mars and directed by Pixar’s Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E), the film promises to be one of the most anticipated movies of 2012.
John Carter stars as Taylor Kitsch in the title role of a captain in the civil war Confederacy who is transported to Mars where he is caught in the middle of a conflict between the planet’s inhabitants, which include Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
