In “Them,” the group find themselves at a new low when they run low on food and water and find nothing in sight. With the elements against them, and delirium running amok, the group must face Beth and Tyreese’s death, while trekking to Washington in hopes of finding a new home and safety.
“Self Help” is one of The Walking Dead’s best episodes; a starkly beautiful, harrowing journey with touches of black humour. This is a tough, smart, ingenious instalment that leads its characters into situations where everything depends on their (and our) understanding of human nature. So what do they all do now? Do they head back to the church or remain separate from everyone and head north with no clear destination?
After an excellent episode last week, Black Sails picks up right where it left off. Following a beautifully-shot ship battle, Flint and his crew find themselves in a bit of a stalemate after boarding the ship they’ve attacked. Most of the action here takes place a night, giving the scenes an appropriately dark atmosphere as Gates tries to come up with some kind of plan to infiltrate the holding without getting his men killed.
