The Telluride Film Festival, a presentation of the National Film Preserve which takes place beginning tomorrow, Friday Sept 2 and runs through Monday Sept 5, has announced the first list of films set to screen during the five day run. One of the reasons that Telluride is so special is because the festival doesn’t announce the lineup until the day before the festival begins, so attendees have to commit to the fest without knowing what they will see. However the festival has a reputation for screening an incredible line up each and every single year, sometimes beating the Toronto International Film Festival to some of the big North American premieres. This year is no exception. The first list of films announced includes David Cronenberg‘s A Dangerous Method, The Turrin horse by SOS face Bela Tarr, The Artist, Into The Abyss, Steve McQueen ‘s Shame and the Dardenne Brothers‘ The Kid With a Bike. Below is the full list of movies.
More films will be announced at the last minute over the next couple days. Again a reminder for anyone who hasn’t been following out site; Simon Howell is currently at Telluride with two of our very good friends Kate and Olivier. Simon should have coverage popping up on the site over the weekend and the three will be producing a podcast sometime next week. Keep checking back for more info, as well as reviews, a daily blog and more.
