With the past year in television ending around the beginning of summer with a slew of season and series finales, many people have begun discussing the shows, writers, and performers who deserve recognition for their work. One of the avenues of recognition are the Emmy Awards, one of the more prestigious awards for television work. Divided into numerous sections, the Primetime Emmy Awards are designed to honour the best in primetime television, a definition that has broadened over the years. The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held on September 22, 2013, honoured the best in television in the 2012-2013 television season. Among the winners were:
